Going to the Dentist

On Tuesday we had our family dentist appointment. Jeff had to do some extensive restorative work done (and is not done with it yet) while I just had my regular check up and cleaning. At hte end of my turn, Katie got to ride in the chair as well.
She did so awesome waiting while I had my turn, and then she was very cooperative with the dental hygenist.

She was right into Katie's mouth and Katie held open wide and sat still

Almost done. She will have to get her deep grooves in her molers looked after, so we'll see how well she does for that. But this first experience was great, so I don't anticipate huge problems.
And then of course she gets her goodie bag. A toy fish, toothbrush and paste, and some floss. She still carries the bag and some of floss around with her as her special "dentist toys" treasure.

All done her first successful dental visit.

  2. Adults actually get a treat bag too: new toothbrush, travel size tooth paste and floss. Plus Jeff got a call the next day after his 2 h appointment just to see how he's making out. I like our dentist!

  3. As far as bangs go, I haven't decided. We haven't cut Katie's hair yet so I haven't actually really thought about it. What's your advice??

  4. Katie is such a good girl. I’m surprised that she’s not afraid during the whole process. Maybe because she saw how brave you and Jeff were to have the dental checkup also. She knew that her mom and dad were there, so she was courageous enough to face the dentist.

  5. It is important for the kids to have a good kind of experience on their first visit to the dentist. If the dentist made a good impression, children are most likely to look forward to the next succeeding dental visits. Keep your kid's teeth healthy!
